The Mission Council on Alcohol Abuse’s Dry Zone DUI Program in San Francisco is a state-licensed, multilingual recovery program dedicated to helping individuals overcome the consequences and risks of driving under the influence. Offered in English, Spanish, and Cantonese, the program provides a structured, educational, and supportive environment for participants who are court-ordered or DMV-referred following DUI or alcohol-related offenses. Beyond meeting legal requirements, the program focuses on helping participants understand the impact of their actions, develop personal accountability, and learn practical strategies to prevent future offenses.

The Dry Zone offers several program options, including the 8-week Wet Reckless, 6-month, 9-month, 12-month, and 18-month programs, each designed to meet specific court or DMV requirements. Group sessions are held Monday through Saturday, with flexible morning and evening schedules to accommodate participants’ work and family commitments. Education sessions emphasize self-awareness, emotional regulation, and decision-making—skills that directly support anger management and healthy coping mechanisms, particularly for those whose alcohol or drug use is tied to emotional triggers.
