The Asian American Drug Abuse Program (AADAP) is dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome addiction, strengthen emotional health, and build brighter futures. AADAP offers a continuum of care designed to meet people where they are, addressing the physical, emotional, and social aspects of recovery. The Residential Unit, known as the Therapeutic Community, provides a coed, 30-bed, 24-hour program offering 3 to 6 months of intensive treatment followed by one year of aftercare support. For those living in the community, the Outpatient Unit delivers culturally responsive and structured counseling for adults and youth at convenient locations in Jim Goodman and Long Beach. These outpatient services help clients manage emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier coping strategies—an essential part of effective anger management and relapse prevention.

Beyond treatment, AADAP strengthens communities through prevention and empowerment initiatives. The Employment Access Unit connects individuals to job training and employment opportunities, while the Prevention Unit focuses on reducing drug, alcohol, and tobacco misuse through education and community collaboration. The Youth and Family Programs Unit provides mentoring, counseling, and family support to at-risk youth, promoting personal growth and positive life choices. Together, these programs reflect AADAP’s mission that “People Need People”—a belief that recovery and change happen through connection, compassion, and comprehensive support.
