Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) has been empowering individuals and families since 1896, guided by the belief that every person has the potential to live a fulfilling, self-sufficient life. Dedicated to serving people from all walks of life, VOALA provides a wide range of programs that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of the community. Their services span across all age groups—children, youth, adults, families, and veterans—creating pathways to stability, healing, and independence.

For adults and families, VOALA’s programs emphasize recovery, education, housing, and personal growth. Through partnerships like the Southern California Drug and Alcohol Programs (SCADP), VOALA offers court-ordered, outpatient, residential, and transitional sober living services designed to help individuals overcome addiction and rebuild their lives. Many of these programs integrate anger management and emotional regulation training, essential tools for breaking destructive cycles and promoting healthier relationships.

VOALA’s commitment to veterans is equally strong, offering comprehensive support for those facing challenges such as depression, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and substance use disorders. Their programs combine mental health care, housing assistance, and job training to help veterans and their families achieve stability and renewed purpose.

Rooted in compassion and a deep respect for human dignity, VOALA continues to transform lives throughout Los Angeles. Whether helping families find stability, guiding individuals through recovery and anger management, or supporting veterans in reclaiming their futures, VOALA stands as a cornerstone of hope and healing for the community.
