The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) is a powerful force for change, dedicated to ending mass incarceration and building stronger, safer communities across California. Guided by the belief that individuals and neighborhoods thrive when people are safe, healthy, and supported, ARC empowers formerly and currently incarcerated individuals to transform their lives through a comprehensive network of programs and advocacy. From inside prisons to the broader community, ARC opens doors to opportunity through in-reach, housing, education, workforce development, and trauma-informed supportive services.
A cornerstone of ARC’s work includes programs that help individuals manage anger, reduce violence, and develop emotional regulation skills—critical tools for successful reentry and long-term stability. Through counseling, mentorship, and self-help initiatives, participants learn healthier ways to handle conflict, cope with stress, and rebuild positive relationships. These efforts not only foster personal growth but also strengthen family and community connections, reducing recidivism and promoting peace.
ARC’s impact extends beyond individual transformation. Through grassroots advocacy, the organization works to reform California’s justice system, making it more equitable and humane. Members benefit from access to housing, education, job training, life coaching, and peer mentorship—creating a circle of support that promotes accountability, resilience, and hope. Success stories from ARC members highlight the life-changing outcomes made possible through compassion, community, and the commitment to healing.
With thousands of members and dozens of policy victories, ARC continues to be a leader in reentry and rehabilitation. Its programs demonstrate that with the right tools—such as anger management, education, and emotional wellness—people can rise above their past and become powerful contributors to their communities.
