Young Dreamers International

Young Dreamers International (YDI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young Black and brown men through leadership, service, and personal growth. Founded in 2020 and officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) in 2022, YDI provides structured mentorship, skill-building workshops, and mental health support designed to help young men develop resilience, confidence, and compassion. Through its Saturday Leadership and Community Program, participants engage in activities that promote self-discipline, teamwork, and community service—equipping them to become strong, positive role models in their communities.

A key component of YDI’s mission is addressing emotional and behavioral health, including anger management. The organization recognizes that learning to manage anger in healthy, productive ways is essential to leadership development and long-term success. By fostering open discussions, providing access to counseling resources, and incorporating emotional intelligence training into its programs, YDI helps young men build self-awareness and effective communication skills that reduce conflict and promote personal responsibility.

Beyond its core programming, YDI enriches participants through cultural experiences and service-learning projects that connect them with their heritage and community. These experiences not only nurture leadership but also instill a sense of purpose and belonging. With ongoing initiatives such as fundraising for a dedicated program vehicle to expand access, Young Dreamers International continues to remove barriers and ensure that every young man—regardless of background—has the opportunity to grow into a resilient, compassionate leader ready to make a meaningful difference in the world.
