Mediation and Conflict Resolution Center (MCRC)

The Mediation and Conflict Resolution Center (MCRC), Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Howard County dedicated to helping individuals and communities manage conflict through effective communication, mediation, and restorative practices. With a mission to create a peaceful and connected community, MCRC provides accessible and affordable conflict resolution services that empower people to engage in meaningful conversations and find constructive solutions. Their programs are designed to reduce tension, promote understanding, and prevent escalation before conflicts reach the courts.

MCRC offers a wide range of services including community mediation, family and co-parenting mediation, re-entry mediation for incarcerated individuals preparing to rejoin society, and group facilitation to support collaborative dialogue within organizations and neighborhoods. Each mediation process is voluntary, neutral, and confidential—encouraging participants to take responsibility for their actions and to rebuild relationships through communication and mutual respect.

Through its Restorative Practices program, MCRC works closely with schools, law enforcement, and juvenile justice partners to help youth reflect on their behavior, understand its impact, and make amends.
