Bethanna serves as a Community Umbrella Agency for West Philadelphia, South Philadelphia, and Center City, providing a comprehensive network of services designed to strengthen families, promote resilience, and support children and youth through challenging circumstances. With a long-standing commitment to helping children and teens find safe, stable, and permanent homes, Bethanna prioritizes permanency services that reduce the risks associated with prolonged foster care and help young people build healthy, productive futures within nurturing family environments.

A core component of Bethanna’s work is its wide-ranging Behavioral Health and Crisis Services, which support children, youth, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. Services are delivered in clinics, homes, schools, and community settings, ensuring care is accessible and responsive to each family’s needs. Using evidence-based, strength-based, and family-centered approaches, Bethanna helps individuals develop emotional regulation skills, improve coping strategies, and address behaviors that may interfere with relationships, learning, or daily functioning. While services are individualized, support often includes helping youth and caregivers manage strong emotions, reduce reactive behaviors, and build healthier ways of responding to stress, conflict, and frustration.

Bethanna’s behavioral health continuum includes outpatient counseling, mobile crisis response, intensive behavioral health services, clinical stabilization, and crisis access programs. Together, these services aim to stabilize crises, promote healing from trauma, strengthen family relationships, and support long-term emotional well-being.
