Scranton Counseling Center has been serving individuals and families across Northeast Pennsylvania since 1947, providing compassionate, accessible, and professional behavioral health care for people of all ages. As a community-based nonprofit, the Center is committed to promoting wellness, supporting recovery, and empowering individuals to live healthier, more fulfilling lives through comprehensive services delivered under one roof. The Center offers a full continuum of behavioral health services, including individual, couples, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Counseling services address a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, with support available for individuals seeking to better understand and manage anger. Through evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, clients can build healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and develop strategies for effective anger management that support personal growth and stronger relationships. Telehealth options are also available, increasing access and flexibility for those balancing busy schedules or transportation challenges.
Scranton Counseling Center is also a regional leader in crisis care through its 24/7 Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Unit, which provides immediate assessment, short-term stabilization, and connection to ongoing services for adults experiencing mental health or behavioral crises. In addition, comprehensive case management helps individuals and families navigate housing, employment, education, and social supports, reducing barriers to stability and preventing recurring crises. Community outreach, school-based mental health services, and prevention programs further strengthen local support systems. Together, these integrated services reflect the Center’s long-standing mission to deliver visible, lifesaving care that meets people where they are and helps them move forward with confidence and hope.
