Destiny Sober Living is a licensed behavioral health agency in Arizona, operating since 1997. Initially providing group home services, Destiny Sober Living has transitioned into a Level II Residential Treatment Program and expanded its offerings to include outpatient services, specializing in Dual Diagnosis Treatment. The agency provides gender-specific treatment programs for men and women dealing with addiction and behavioral health issues, including residential treatment, SMI rehabilitation programs, transitional housing, and outpatient services.

DUI Treatment Programs

Destiny Sober Living recognizes the serious consequences of DUI offenses and provides specialized treatment to address the underlying issues of alcohol and drug abuse. Despite the severe penalties for DUI offenses, many offenders are repeat offenders, indicating a need for effective treatment.

DUI Penalties

If stopped for DUI with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08 percent or more (0.04 percent for commercial vehicle drivers), or if a test result is unavailable, your driving privileges will be revoked immediately. Reinstatement requires completion of alcohol or drug screening. You can be convicted of DUI even with a BAC below 0.08 percent. For those under 21, any alcohol concentration can lead to license suspension. Refusal to submit to a test results in a 12-month driving privilege loss (24 months for a second refusal within 84 months).

DUI Offense Penalties

  • First Offense: Minimum 10 days in jail, $1,250 fine, alcohol screening/education/treatment, ignition interlock device installation, and community service.
  • Second/Subsequent Offenses: Minimum 90 days in jail, $3,000 fine, 12-month license revocation, alcohol screening/education/treatment, ignition interlock device installation, and community service.

Extreme DUI (BAC 0.15 or higher)

  • First Offense: Minimum 30 days in jail, $2,500 fine, alcohol screening/education/treatment, ignition interlock device installation, and community service.
  • Second/Subsequent Offenses: Minimum 120 days in jail, $3,250 fine, 12-month license revocation, alcohol screening/education/treatment, ignition interlock device installation, and community service.

Aggravated DUI

This applies to those who commit DUI while their license is suspended, revoked, or canceled; commit a third DUI in 84 months; have a person under 15 in the vehicle; or refuse a blood alcohol content test while under an ignition interlock device requirement. Penalties include up to two years in prison, three-year license revocation, alcohol screening/education/treatment, ignition interlock device installation, and community service.

Certified Ignition Interlock Device

This device is connected to the vehicle’s ignition and power system, requiring the driver to blow into it to start the vehicle. If the alcohol level is too high, the vehicle will not start. Random tests are also required while driving.
