The Inyo County Health & Human Services Behavioral Health Department offers a state-licensed Driving Under the Influence (DUI) program designed to educate and support individuals who have been arrested for DUI offenses. This program helps participants fulfill court-mandated requirements while providing education and treatment to reduce the incidence of impaired driving.

The program includes various levels of intervention based on the severity of the offense. The Wet & Reckless Education Program is available for individuals arrested with a blood alcohol level (BAL) below 0.08. The First Offender Program (FOP) is tailored for those with a BAL between 0.08 and 2.0, while the extended FOP2/9-month version is for those with a BAL exceeding 0.20. Additionally, the Multiple Offender Program (MOP) supports individuals with multiple DUI convictions.

Each program consists of structured components, including individual alcohol assessments, educational sessions, group counseling, and face-to-face meetings. Participants are required to attend all scheduled sessions and remain compliant with program regulations. Failure to meet attendance requirements may result in additional fees or court intervention. Program costs vary by level, with financial obligations required at intake and structured monthly payment plans.

The goal of the program is to help individuals recognize and address alcohol-related problems while promoting safer driving behaviors. Participants are expected to fully engage in all sessions, adhere to program rules, and take responsibility for their recovery. A structured schedule of classes and meetings is provided at intake, ensuring a clear path toward meeting legal and personal rehabilitation goals.
