Welcome to Lassen County Driving under the Influence (DUI) Programs, where our mission is to assist individuals in completing court-ordered and DMV requirements while working to reduce the number of repeat DUI offenses. Our state-licensed DUI programs provide participants with the opportunity to address issues associated with drinking and driving, offering education groups to examine attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and drug use while operating a motor vehicle.
It's important to note that our classes focus on education rather than treatment. If you feel you may require treatment services, we encourage you to contact Lassen County Behavioral Health at (530) 251-8108, as you may be covered under Medi-Cal.
Our state-licensed DUI programs offer a range of services aimed at promoting a positive lifestyle and reducing the likelihood of repeat offenses. We help individuals explore their relationship with alcohol and/or drugs, understand the risks involved, and promote modified drinking/drug use in high-risk situations such as driving under the influence.
What to expect from our programs:
Education: Our programs provide education, group counseling, individual case management, and substance use assessments.
Program Length: The length of the program is based on Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) and prior DUI convictions. For instance:
- 12-Hour Education Only – SB1176 for BAC under .08%
- 3-Month First Offender – AB541 for BAC .08% - .15%
- 6-Month First Offender – AB762 for BAC .15% - 19%
- 9-Month First Offender – SB1353 for BAC .20% or greater
- 18-Month Multiple Offender – For individuals with more than one DUI conviction within 10 years
Additionally, the program length may be determined by the courts/DMV based on specific situations, such as hit and run incidents, having a child in the car, or being under the influence of drugs other than alcohol.
At Lassen County Driving under the Influence (DUI) Programs, we are committed to helping individuals understand the risks associated with drinking and driving, promoting responsible choices, and working towards a safer community. Contact us today to learn more about our services and program options.
