If you have been charged with DUI, drug possession, or related offenses in Georgia, state law mandates your attendance at a certified DUI School or Risk Reduction Program (RRP 0290) before your driver's license can be reinstated. The process begins with an Assessment, which consists of 130 questions regarding your lifestyle and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. This initial assessment costs $100, as regulated by state law, and is available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
After the Assessment, participants must complete a 20-hour classroom course, also known as the DUI class or Risk Reduction Program, which costs $260. This fee includes a class fee of $235 and a $25 book fee. Classes are held monthly, typically on Friday evenings from 6 PM to 10 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 5 PM. It is crucial to attend all scheduled sessions, as late entries are not permitted. Upon successfully finishing the course, participants receive a Certificate of Completion on the final day. The total cost for the complete program, including both the Assessment and the classroom course, is $360. Accepted payment methods include cash, money orders, and major credit and debit cards. For those mandated to attend, completion of this program is essential for license reinstatement and to meet legal obligations.
