At our school, we provide the certified DUI and Risk Reduction course recognized by the Georgia Department of Driver Services. This essential program is typically required for individuals who have received a DUI conviction or had a DUI charge reduced to a traffic violation. Additionally, the course serves as a prevention and early intervention initiative for those looking to address alcohol and drug use.
The course consists of 20 hours of instruction based on the Prime for Life® curriculum, and participants will receive a Georgia Certified DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Certificate of Completion upon successful completion. To obtain this certificate, students must follow a series of steps. First, they need to schedule an appointment for an assessment and complete it with an assessor, ensuring that all fees are paid beforehand. Next, students register for the intervention component, which is a three-day course offered monthly. Attendance for all three days is mandatory, along with achieving a minimum score of 70% on the course evaluation.
It’s important to note that assessment results are valid for one year. If a student does not enroll in the intervention component within this timeframe, a new assessment and associated fee will be required. Each class spans three days, and adherence to state and academy regulations is crucial for successful completion. For further details, please consult the guidelines provided upon registration.
