The Risk Reduction Program (RRP) is a comprehensive 20-hour class designed for individuals required to attend due to DUI, drug possession, or similar offenses. Offered three weekends each month, the program includes a combination of Friday evening classes (4 hours), Saturday (8 hours), and Sunday (8 hours), with options for both in-person attendance and virtual participation via Zoom.
The RRP begins with a crucial assessment known as the NEEDS assessment, a nationally recognized self-administered survey that evaluates participants' involvement with alcohol and drugs and their impact on personal lives. This assessment must be completed a day before the class starts and incurs a fee of $100.
Following the assessment, participants engage in the core 20-hour educational component of the program, which utilizes the Prime for Life curriculum to deliver therapeutic education effectively. The total cost for the class, which includes all materials, is $260. Georgia law mandates that all fees, totaling $360, be paid in full by the day before class commencement.
This program is structured to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about their substance use, aiming to reduce risks associated with DUI and other offenses.
