Before enrolling in the 20-hour Risk Reduction Course, participants must complete a comprehensive Assessment consisting of 143 questions focused on their lifestyle, which takes approximately 30-45 minutes and costs $100, a fee mandated by state law. Assessments can be scheduled by appointment or taken as a walk-in during office hours. To enroll in a DUI/Drug Risk Reduction Course starting on Saturday, the Assessment must be completed by 12:00 p.m. on the preceding Friday. In response to COVID-19, participants have the option to complete the Assessment electronically through a state-approved portal, where all required contracts can also be signed.
Upon completing the Assessment, participants are required to enroll in the 20-hour classroom course, known as the DUI/Drug Class or Risk Reduction Course, which costs $235. Punctual attendance is mandatory, as late arrivals are not permitted due to strict Department of Driver Services regulations. To begin the course, both the Assessment and the Risk Reduction Course fees must be paid in full.
The Right Turn offers Hybrid Classes, accommodating both virtual and in-person students. Participants must sign an Assessment and a Risk Reduction Intervention Contract, and they are required to purchase a $25 workbook. The total cost for the Risk Reduction Course, including all fees, is $360. Upon successfully completing the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion, which can be crucial for fulfilling legal requirements and demonstrating commitment to responsible behavior.
