The Risk Reduction Program (RRP) is a state-mandated initiative designed for individuals convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI), possession of illegal drugs, underage alcohol possession while driving, or Boating Under the Influence (BUI). The primary goal of the RRP is to help participants understand and mitigate the risks associated with alcohol and drug use, particularly in the context of driving. The program emphasizes the importance of making necessary lifestyle changes to prevent future impairment and health issues.
Participants in the RRP undergo a two-step process following registration and payment. First, they complete a NEEDS Assessment, which evaluates their specific requirements. This is followed by a 20-hour Risk Reduction Course, which is available during evenings and weekends. The program schedule includes multiple sessions throughout the year, allowing flexibility for participants to choose a time that works best for them.
The total fee for the course is $360, which includes a $100 assessment fee, a $235 course fee, and a $25 book fee. By completing the RRP, individuals can take significant steps towards addressing their behaviors and reducing the likelihood of future offenses. The RRP is an essential resource for fostering safer driving practices and encouraging responsible decision-making regarding substance use.
