An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a structured and supportive approach for individuals transitioning from residential treatment or those needing more comprehensive care than standard outpatient services. IOP provides a blend of individual and group counseling, educational sessions, and relapse prevention planning tailored to each client's needs. This program is designed to facilitate strong, lasting recovery by addressing both substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Rosecrance offers IOP for both adolescents and adults at various locations across Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, with options for in-person and virtual participation. Typically, IOP involves nine hours of group counseling per week over a period of eight to ten weeks, followed by a stepdown phase of about five hours weekly for four weeks. This is complemented by individualized continuing care. The program includes educational components focused on substance use prevention, avoiding triggers, building recovery connections, and family support. It also integrates 12-Step meetings and employs evidence-based treatment methods such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to enhance emotional regulation and address co-occurring disorders.
