Way Back Inn provides a comprehensive Extended Residential Care (ERC) program tailored for individuals dealing with substance use, gambling disorders, and co-occurring conditions. The ERC offers a structured, long-term therapeutic environment designed to help individuals rebuild and maintain a productive lifestyle in recovery. Participants, who stay in one of Way Back Inn's homes for a period ranging from 90 days to one year, receive individualized treatment plans that include clinical services, housing, and meals.
The ERC program features up to nine hours of weekly clinical services, including individual and group therapy led by Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Participants also benefit from practical support in areas such as time management, employment, and budgeting. Way Back Inn operates separate ERC homes for men-identified and women-identified adults, with facilities located in Maywood and Oak Park respectively.
Upon completing the ERC program, individuals may transition to Recovery Homes, where they receive reduced-frequency clinical services as they prepare for independent living. This step-down approach aims to support a smooth transition into broader community life. The Recovery Home is a multi-unit facility located in Melrose Park.
Way Back Inn's programs emphasize a holistic approach to recovery, integrating group and individual therapy, communal living, family-style meals, daily community meetings, and 12-step support. Clients are encouraged to engage in peer support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) to build a robust recovery network. The center is dedicated to treating clients with dignity, using evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to ensure effective and respectful care.
