At Serenity House Counseling Services, we provide comprehensive support for individuals arrested for DUI, guiding them through necessary classes and addressing underlying issues. Our licensed facility in Illinois offers DUI Risk Education classes, mandated by the Illinois Secretary of State, to help meet legal requirements and foster personal growth. Depending on the DUI evaluation results, additional substance abuse treatment may be required.
Upon arrest, individuals must undergo an alcohol and drug evaluation to determine the extent of their use and receive a risk classification. This evaluation helps tailor the appropriate treatment plan, which may include Risk Education and various levels of group counseling. For those classified as Minimal Risk (Level 1), a 10-hour Risk Education program is required. Moderate Risk (Level 2) individuals need 10 hours of Risk Education and 12 hours of group counseling. Significant Risk individuals require additional group counseling and continuing care, while High Risk individuals must complete an intensive 75-hour group counseling program.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for those needing a structured approach to recovery, incorporating evidence-based therapies like Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The IOP involves 20–25 sessions over 5–7 weeks, combining group and individual therapy, support group attendance, and drug testing to promote long-term recovery and personal development.
