Our clinic offers comprehensive treatment options for opioid addiction, accepting Medicaid and Medicare.
Methadone Treatment Overview: Methadone maintenance is a long-term strategy for managing opioid addiction, requiring daily medication. As patients stabilize, their negative addiction-related thoughts often lessen, and their lives can significantly improve. This treatment helps individuals care for their families, pursue educational and career goals, and address co-occurring mental and physical health issues. While methadone is not a cure, it is the most effective method for treating opioid addiction. It eliminates withdrawal symptoms and cravings, improving health, vocational success, and reducing criminal behavior. Patients typically start with a low dose of methadone, which is gradually adjusted to eliminate cravings and withdrawal symptoms without causing a high. The treatment includes regular counseling and educational support, with adjustments based on individual needs.
Suboxone (Buprenorphine) Treatment Overview: Suboxone serves as an alternative to methadone for those with less severe addiction histories. It helps patients lead productive lives by suppressing opioid withdrawal symptoms and cravings for up to 24 hours. Suboxone combines a partial opioid agonist with Naloxone to prevent misuse. New patients undergo an initial assessment and are prescribed a small amount of Suboxone to gauge tolerance. After stabilizing on a suitable dose, they attend the clinic monthly and provide regular drug screens. While Suboxone prescriptions are not included in the program fee, optional counseling services are available at an additional cost.
Both treatments are designed to support individuals in overcoming addiction and achieving a healthier, more stable life.
