The Allen Superior Court’s Criminal Division Services (CDS) provides comprehensive programs designed to improve public safety, reduce alcohol and drug-related criminal activity, and enhance the lives of offenders, their families, and the community. Under its umbrella are three specialized departments: the Alcohol Countermeasures Program (ACP), the Drug Court Program, and Pre-Trial Services. Each program emphasizes rehabilitation, education, and structured support to guide offenders toward long-term behavioral change.
The Alcohol Countermeasures Program (ACP) plays a pivotal role in addressing alcohol-related offenses. It focuses on misdemeanor offenders in need of intervention, education, treatment, or rehabilitation. Through assessments, referrals, and structured supervision, ACP aims to reduce substance abuse and its associated criminal behaviors while collaborating with community resources to deliver tailored services. Sentences under ACP range from 60 to 365 days, depending on the charge, ensuring offenders receive the necessary support to change their lifestyles.
The Drug Court Program provides an innovative, holistic approach to substance use-related offenses, emphasizing prevention, treatment, and community safety. Targeting offenders with substance use disorders, the program incorporates intensive case management, judicial monitoring, and a system of incentives and sanctions to encourage compliance. Participants progress through three structured phases over 12 to 18 months, with goals centered on sobriety, skill development, and reducing recidivism. Random drug testing and frequent monitoring ensure accountability, making this program a cost-effective solution that benefits both offenders and the community.
Pre-Trial Services supervises criminal defendants released from custody, ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions. Together, these programs represent Allen Superior Court’s commitment to addressing substance use and its impact on public safety through evidence-based interventions and community collaboration.
