Court Services Overview
The Dearborn County Court Services Department is dedicated to enhancing community safety by reducing repeat criminal behavior through evidence-based practices. Established in 2013 through the merger of the Dearborn County Superior Courts Probation Department and Southeast Regional Community Corrections, this unified approach ensures efficient and effective service delivery. The department focuses on offender rehabilitation through evidence-based programs, community service, and appropriate supervision, all aimed at fostering accountability and long-term behavior change.
Court Services operates two key divisions: the Dearborn County Superior Courts Probation Department and Southeast Regional Community Corrections. Together, these divisions work to supervise and rehabilitate offenders while upholding court orders and supervision rules. By maintaining close collaboration with local courts, including Dearborn County Superior Courts I and II, Dearborn/Ohio County Circuit Courts, and Switzerland Circuit Court, the department ensures comprehensive oversight.
Programs provided by Court Services, including DUI classes, are central to its mission of promoting rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. These classes are specifically designed to educate offenders on the dangers of impaired driving and to support their journey toward responsible decision-making. By prioritizing accountability and rehabilitation, Court Services plays an integral role in strengthening community safety and helping offenders make positive life changes.
