GCAD provides comprehensive alcohol and drug services designed to address substance misuse and promote responsible behavior. Recognizing that chemical dependency is a primary disease with severe consequences for individuals, families, and communities, GCAD focuses on prevention, education, and intervention. The program emphasizes the importance of responsible alcohol use, discourages impaired driving, and upholds a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drug use and medication misuse.

For individuals cited for impaired driving or other offenses, GCAD provides several structured programs. The Basic Alcohol Information Class (8-hour course) focuses on raising awareness of the effects, causes, and consequences of alcohol and drug misuse, with a primary emphasis on alcohol. The Change Companies 20-Hour Education Program uses evidence-based strategies to reduce recidivism, increase awareness of substance-related risks, and inspire positive behavioral change. Additionally, the Prime for Life 20-Hour Education Program is a proven intervention model supported by over 25 years of success in helping participants reduce risky behaviors, avoid relapse, and make informed choices about alcohol and drug use.
