Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services (ADDS)

The Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services of Southeast Iowa (ADDS) provides licensed prevention and treatment services for substance use disorders and problem gambling. Funded by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, ADDS is part of the HHS Integrated Provider Network. The organization offers the state-required 12-hour OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) course, using the Prime for Life curriculum to meet all state regulations. Classes are held in-person, with no walk-in registrations or payments accepted at the class itself. The course runs on Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with both sessions required for completion. Participants must pre-register and pay the $180 fee at one of ADDS’ offices in Burlington, Wapello, Mt. Pleasant, or Keokuk, providing their OWI case number during registration. A schedule of upcoming OWI classes is available for each location throughout the year, and participants are encouraged to sign up in advance, as spots are filled on a first-to-pay basis.
