When registering for the DMACC Drinking Drivers course, please note that the course must be completed in its entirety and cannot be divided into multiple sections. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion. It is the student's responsibility to provide a copy of this certificate to the courts or probation office. DMACC will report course completion to the Department of Transportation (DOT) within two days, and early reporting requests are not accepted.
If your DOT records still show the course as incomplete after the two-day reporting period, it is important to verify that a substance abuse evaluation has been completed. DMACC does not provide these evaluations, so you must contact the agency that performed the evaluation to confirm they reported the completion to the DOT before reaching out to DMACC.
In-person classes are offered monthly at the Ankeny Campus and Southridge Center. Additionally, packets for both first and second offense OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) are available in English and Spanish. Please ensure that all course requirements, including the substance abuse evaluation, are met before contacting DMACC regarding any reporting issues.
