In Iowa, drivers charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) are required by state law (Iowa Law 321J.2 and 321J.17) to complete a state-approved, in-person DUI education program before their driver's license can be reinstated. This includes mandatory DUI screenings and DUI classes, which must be completed in addition to paying all civil penalties and reinstatement fees. Pathways offers DUI screenings and classes as part of its comprehensive services for individuals charged with OWI. The process begins with an assessment conducted by a certified substance abuse counselor, who evaluates the individual’s needs and recommends appropriate treatment options, including prevention programs or addiction treatment services. Fees for these services are consistent with statewide standards.

Pathways Behavioral Services also provides addiction treatment for individuals struggling with chemical dependency. Recognizing that addiction is a progressive, chronic disease that impacts all areas of life, Pathways offers various treatment options to help individuals on their journey to recovery. These include Intensive Outpatient Programming (Level 2.1), which is the most intensive outpatient counseling available. This program combines group and individual therapy for a total of nine or more hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate family and work obligations. Pathways works closely with individuals and families, guiding them through recovery with a tailored treatment plan to address addiction’s physical, emotional, and social challenges.
