EFR’s Substance Abuse Services offer confidential, professional assessments and referrals for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. These services, provided by certified counselors, are designed to support those who are concerned about their drinking or drug use, face legal charges related to substances, or need an evaluation due to a Department of Transportation (DOT) violation. The assessments may also involve significant others or family members, with consent, to gain a broader understanding of the situation.
Evaluations are available by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays and typically take 90 minutes. These assessments are recognized by the Iowa Court System, Department of Human Services (DHS), and DOT. Following the assessment, counselors will review the findings and recommend next steps, which may include referrals to outpatient or inpatient treatment programs, specialized counseling, or other relevant resources.
EFR accepts Medicaid, cash, and credit/debit card payments for their services. For Iowa residents without insurance, the cost of the evaluation may be covered by a grant based on income eligibility. The fee for an OWI evaluation is $125, with different pricing for out-of-state evaluations.
