House of Mercy, a leading behavioral health provider in Central Iowa, has been dedicated to improving community health since 1988. As the state's largest program serving parenting women with children, it offers a range of evidence-based substance use disorder and mental health services. Accredited by CARF and licensed by the State of Iowa, the organization provides personalized care to individuals and families in need.
House of Mercy offers a variety of treatment options, including outpatient and residential services for individuals with substance use disorders. Priority is given to pregnant women who inject drugs, those who abuse substances in other ways, and individuals who inject drugs. The residential services include individualized treatment, parenting education, on-site daycare, and self-sufficiency supports. The outpatient services focus on education, prevention, and intensive outpatient programs, with additional mental health support such as therapy and psychiatric services for both children and adults.
Specialized programs at House of Mercy include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Circle of Security Parenting, 24/7 Dads, and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). The center also offers community presentations on topics like modern approaches to substance use disorder treatment and Mental Health First Aid.
