The YWCA of Fort Dodge, established in 1909 and located at its current site since 1914, offers a range of services to support individuals in recovery from substance use. Its three-story facility provides housing for women with children and single women seeking recovery through a 90-day substance use treatment program. The program includes evidence-based addiction treatment, support meetings such as AA and NA, and access to essential services like laundry, gym facilities, and donations of clothing and hygiene items. Additionally, the YWCA serves as a Food Pantry, addressing food insecurity in the Fort Dodge community.
The YWCA recognizes substance abuse as a serious, life-threatening condition that, if untreated, can lead to severe health consequences such as overdose and various cancers. To support those affected, the YWCA’s Center for Life Empowerment provides comprehensive services, including residential treatment, halfway house treatment, substance abuse evaluations, OWI evaluations, and intensive outpatient programs. Both men and women can benefit from extended outpatient services, ensuring ongoing support as they work toward recovery and stability. Through its diverse services, the YWCA strives to empower individuals, offering not only recovery programs but also practical resources to help clients rebuild their lives.
