The DUI/DWI Alcohol Education Program offers two distinct levels of education and treatment for individuals referred for rehabilitation due to alcohol-related driving offenses. The Level .5 program is a 6-week curriculum designed for individuals with no prior DUI/DWI offenses or substance abuse history. This education-based program consists of 12 hours, delivered in weekly 2-hour group sessions. The Level 1 program, a more intensive 26-week treatment plan, is for individuals with multiple alcohol or drug offenses. This program includes 52 hours of education, weekly 2-hour sessions, and mandatory random breathalyzer and urinalysis tests.
Placement in either program is determined through an assessment by licensed or certified clinical staff, which may involve urine analysis or breathalyzer tests. Depending on the severity of the case, individuals may be referred to higher levels of treatment, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP).
Referrals for both programs must come from a District Court Judge, an Administrative Law Judge, or the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) due to a revoked license. Fees for the programs must be paid upfront, and the Level .5 program is not typically covered by insurance. However, the Level 1 program may be covered, depending on the insurance provider. Upon successful completion of either program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. This program serves as a comprehensive educational and treatment solution for individuals seeking rehabilitation following DUI/DWI offenses.
