Substance Abuse Education Program at Columbia Addictions Center
The Columbia Addictions Center offers a comprehensive Substance Abuse Education Program, also referred to as the "Alcohol/Drug Education" or "Early Intervention" program. This 12-hour, entry-level course is designed for individuals with a mild to moderate history of alcohol or drug use and who have experienced no more than one substance-related incident. The program is often suitable for those seeking to fulfill legal requirements following a first-time DUI, alcohol citation, or other substance-related offense.
The education sessions focus on promoting awareness and responsible behavior through group discussions, lectures, and presentations. The program is delivered through Operation Breakthrough, a service offered by the Columbia Treatment Center. While this course is a valuable step toward addressing substance use issues, it’s important to note that most insurance providers do not cover educational classes.
In addition to the Substance Abuse Education Program, Columbia Treatment Center offers a variety of individual and group counseling services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. With over 34 years of experience, the center is certified by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and staffed by highly qualified therapists with advanced degrees and specialized training. Their compassionate, non-judgmental approach emphasizes accountability and personal growth, making their reports and treatment plans stand out in the field.
Columbia Treatment Center is dedicated to helping clients navigate their recovery journey with care, professionalism, and attention to detail, ensuring every individual receives the support they need to make meaningful changes in their lives.
