About Project Chesapeake

Founded in 2014, Project Chesapeake is dedicated to strengthening communities by providing comprehensive addiction, substance abuse, and mental health counseling services across several Maryland counties, including Anne Arundel, Calvert, Cecil, Charles, St. Mary’s, Queen Anne’s, and Caroline. The organization takes a compassionate, recovery-focused approach to helping individuals overcome challenges related to addiction and mental health, promoting long-term recovery and personal growth.

Project Chesapeake offers a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These include outpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, mental health therapy, DUI education, domestic violence and anger management programs, medication management, psychiatric rehabilitation, and individualized counseling. Services are available for both adults and adolescents, with specialized programs designed to foster positive, lasting change.

The Traditional Outpatient program (Level I.1) focuses on education, self-awareness, and relapse prevention. Participants typically attend for 26 weeks and work toward individualized treatment goals. For those needing more intensive care, the Intensive Outpatient program (Level II.1) provides nine or more hours of group and individual counseling each week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate work and family commitments. This higher level of care focuses on stabilizing clients and teaching essential recovery tools.

In addition to group programs, Project Chesapeake offers individual counseling in a confidential, supportive environment, helping clients address personal challenges, process past trauma, and work toward healthier behaviors. Adolescents can also access both traditional and intensive outpatient services, receiving the guidance and support they need to navigate challenges related to mental health and substance use.

With a mission rooted in promoting well-being and sustainable recovery, Project Chesapeake is committed to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through compassionate, client-centered care.
