BHN offers approved DUI Offender Programs in Massachusetts, serving the Western Region, including Springfield, Palmer, Westfield, Northampton, Chicopee, and Holyoke. These programs are authorized by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) and the Department of Public Health (DPH). BHN provides the Massachusetts Impaired Driver (MID) Program, which is a 38-hour, DPH-BSAS licensed psycho-education course designed for individuals convicted of a first-time DUI offense. This program is self-pay or can be waived under certain conditions.
For individuals with a second DUI offense, BHN offers the Second/Multiple Offender (SOA) Program, which includes a comprehensive clinical intake and substance abuse assessment. Participants are given a one-year individualized treatment plan, which is regularly reviewed to assess their progress and adjust treatment as needed. BHN also processes referrals for court-ordered substance use assessments and assists with out-of-state DUI convictions and related mandates.
Eligibility for these programs generally requires a court or Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) referral. BHN is committed to providing quality services to support DUI offenders in their recovery and comply with legal mandates.
