Brien Center- MHSAS

The Brien Center offers comprehensive court-ordered addiction services in Massachusetts, including programs for individuals referred by the court for driving under the influence (DUI) and those requiring aftercare treatment for second offenses. These services include individualized treatment plans, abstinence from substances, and self-help involvement. The center also provides evaluations, treatment planning, and structured care for individuals involved in alcohol- or drug-related crimes, as well as a specialized program for those who have committed acts of intimate partner violence.

In addition to court-ordered programs, the Brien Center offers a wide range of addiction treatment services, recognizing addiction as a chronic disease that can be successfully managed. Services include detox transition programs, residential recovery homes, intensive outpatient treatment, and outpatient services for individuals, families, and groups. The center's holistic approach integrates mental health and substance use treatment, with a focus on individualized care and evidence-based therapies. Programs such as relapse prevention, mindfulness skills, and gender-specific recovery support help individuals maintain long-term sobriety.

The Brien Center’s staff includes licensed mental health and addiction counselors, and their outpatient services are licensed by the state of Massachusetts. For individuals stepping down from inpatient care, the center’s Transitional Services Program helps coordinate ongoing treatment and support. Medication-assisted therapy, including Buprenorphine and Vivitrol, is also available.
