Addiction is a pervasive issue that affects individuals, families, and communities. Advocates offers a range of programs and treatment options to help individuals on their journey to recovery, aiming to strengthen both lives and communities. The organization provides individual and group addiction counseling at clinics in Framingham, Marlborough, and Harvard, with services accepting MassHealth and most private insurance plans. Additionally, Advocates operates two addiction recovery homes, Channing House and Linda Fay Griffin House, which provide supportive environments for individuals recovering from addiction.
Recovery coaching is another key service, where professionally trained coaches, drawing from their own lived experiences, help guide others through the recovery process, offering support as they navigate systems and resources to build fulfilling lives. Advocates is also a regional leader in residential programs, offering group homes for adults facing mental health and addiction challenges in MetroWest and Central Massachusetts.
For those convicted of driving under the influence, Advocates provides specialized education programs. The First Offender Driver Alcohol Education program offers 40 hours of education over 16 weeks, including assessments and self-help meetings, to reduce future incidents. For individuals convicted of a second offense, the Second Offender Aftercare program provides a year of aftercare treatment following a residential program, aiming to help individuals take responsibility for their actions and prevent future offenses. Referrals for both programs are made by the adjudicating court.
