BSCS is dedicated to supporting community safety and wellbeing by partnering with the court system to provide essential services for individuals involved in legal matters. We offer clinical support, education, and resources to individuals who have been referred through the legal process, with approval from the Department of Public Health-Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) for various court-ordered programs.

Our Court-Ordered Driving Programs include the Massachusetts Impaired Driver-First Offender Program (MID), also known as Project SAFE. This 40-hour program is designed for individuals convicted of impaired driving. It includes an intake interview, 16 psychoeducational group sessions, two self-help meetings, a victim impact forum, and an exit interview. Participants may also qualify for a hardship license and will receive additional support and referrals as needed.

For those with multiple impaired driving offenses, the Second Offender Aftercare Program (SOA) offers extended support. Participants undergo a clinical intake assessment and may be referred to group or individual therapy. Treatment typically starts with weekly sessions, transitioning to monthly meetings, with ongoing assessments and treatment planning. The program is available before or after completing the mandatory two-week Driving Under the Influence of Liquor (DUIL) program.

Funding for both programs is available through self-pay, insurance, or financial hardship assistance, with rates set by the state. For more information or to schedule an intake, please reach out to the relevant location.
