The NHBP Health and Human Services Department (HHSD) is dedicated to providing and coordinating access to high-quality, culturally relevant health and social services aimed at promoting overall wellbeing. Services are available to federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native individuals, their descendants, and NHBP employees at three health facilities. The HHSD staff integrates traditional healing practices alongside trauma-informed and integrated care to address the full spectrum of wellness—emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. This approach encompasses a variety of services, including medical, behavioral health, dental care, home visiting, and social services. Additionally, the department plays an active role in organizing numerous events and programs throughout the year that focus on disease prevention and health promotion. HHSD collaborates with external vendors, partners, and other NHBP departments to ensure comprehensive and effective service delivery to the community.
