The Michigan Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDIC) offered by EIP Michigan provides both online and classroom options, allowing individuals who have received a traffic citation to avoid points on their driving record and prevent their violation from impacting their insurance rates. This course is proven to reduce the likelihood of future traffic violations, making it a valuable investment of time. Participants can complete the award-winning online course at their own pace, anywhere and anytime, without any hassles. The course is mobile-friendly, ensuring easy access from a phone or tablet. With a remarkable 99.99% pass rate, students can confidently take the course, knowing that upon completion, their status will be automatically reported to the Michigan Department of State.
To be eligible, individuals must have received an eligibility letter from the Michigan Department of State, have a valid non-commercial driver’s license, and have no more than two points on their record. The violation they received must be worth no more than three points and cannot involve careless or negligent driving. Additionally, they must not have a restricted or suspended license or have completed a Michigan BDIC course in the past. The course is required to be four hours long, as mandated by the Michigan Department of State, with a state processing fee of $17. EIP Michigan also offers various other courses, including those for alcohol, anger management, and retail theft.
