To be eligible, individuals must have received an eligibility letter from the Michigan Department of State, have a valid non-commercial driver’s license, and have no more than two points on their record. The violation they received must be worth no more than three points and cannot involve careless or negligent driving. Additionally, they must not have a restricted or suspended license or have completed a Michigan BDIC course in the past. The course is required to be four hours long, as mandated by the Michigan Department of State, with a state processing fee of $17.
