The Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) at Camden County College offers a vital 12-hour educational program for individuals mandated to attend due to convictions related to operating a vehicle under the influence. This program is available for clients from Camden and Warren Counties, ensuring accessibility through online Zoom classes scheduled for November 19-20 from 4 PM to 10 PM. Participants must register for the class corresponding to their notification letter and are required to fill out a screening form to validate their registration.
The educational program is designed to inform attendees about New Jersey laws pertaining to drug and alcohol use while driving, as well as the effects of these substances on physical and mental health and driver safety. The course, which spans two consecutive days, also includes individual screenings to determine if further assessment by a substance use treatment agency is necessary.
Classes are conveniently held during non-business hours, and a Public Safety officer is present at all times to ensure a secure learning environment. For participants requiring accommodations, such as language assistance or support for hearing impairments, the IDRC encourages contacting their office via email. All registration and payment processes are conducted online, with participants needing a device equipped with a microphone, speakers, and webcam to fully engage in the class. To ensure a smooth experience, the Zoom class invitation will be sent on the day of the class, and participants are advised to check their spam folders.
