About SODDAP
Founded in the 1980s, the Southern Ohio Drinking Driving Awareness Program (SODDAP) has built a strong reputation for excellence and dedicated client care over the past four decades. Our mission is to assist individuals in fulfilling court-ordered driving school requirements, providing accredited classes that comply with Ohio state laws and are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction. Our comprehensive curriculum covers essential topics, including the circumstances of arrest, the effects of alcohol and drugs, addiction stages, and recovery processes, complemented by guest speakers who enhance the learning experience.
In addition to our educational programs, SODDAP offers counseling services conducted by licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, both independently and in groups. We automatically report class completion to the appropriate courts, ensuring participants receive a Completion Card that serves as proof of fulfillment of their OVI/DUI program obligations. Our program aims to promote awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence, ultimately striving to make our roads safer for everyone.
For those facing OVI or DUI charges in Ohio, our program provides crucial information on the legal implications and penalties associated with these offenses, including the consequences of refusing chemical tests. We also address related issues, such as physical control laws and reckless operation definitions, to ensure participants are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities.
