Nexus Care of Beaufort County, a key component of Beaufort County Government, is dedicated to addressing substance abuse issues affecting our community. Established under South Carolina law, Nexus Care is one of 46 agencies committed to supporting individuals and families grappling with alcohol, tobacco, and other drug-related challenges. Licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and internationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, Nexus Care upholds rigorous national and international standards for quality care. Our credentialed staff deliver a range of programs and services aimed at both legal compliance and essential support for those in need.

Since its inception in 1974, Nexus Care has been proactive in developing initiatives designed to address and prevent substance abuse. Our vision is to mitigate the impact of alcohol and drug use, which significantly affects homes, schools, and communities annually, resulting in substantial economic losses. By focusing on prevention and treatment, we aim to reduce these problems and improve the overall well-being of Beaufort County residents.

Our treatment philosophy considers chemical dependency as a chronic and progressive disease impacting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Through the ADSAP program, Nexus Care also seeks to enhance highway safety by offering assessment, education, and intervention services to DUI offenders, helping to minimize the risk of repeat offenses.
