Charleston County's Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, commonly known as Charleston Center, is dedicated to providing comprehensive substance use prevention, intervention, education, and treatment services. The center's mission is to support the residents of Charleston County in leading productive lives free from the effects of alcohol, other drugs, and addictive behaviors, fostering active recovery for those impacted by addiction. Recognizing addiction as a chronic and progressive disease, Charleston Center offers a range of accredited programs and services, including residential treatment, withdrawal management, outpatient services, and Medication-Assisted Treatment with FDA-approved medications. Additionally, they provide an Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) and a urine drug screening lab. The center also focuses on prevention and education to address the needs of individuals who must meet ADSAP requirements due to DUAC/DUI/BUI convictions or driver’s license suspensions under ALR or Zero Tolerance Laws. With its CARF Three-Year accreditation, Charleston Center is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to support long-term recovery and well-being.
