The Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) is a mandatory program for all South Carolinians convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). Trinity offers ADSAP at its locations in Dillon, Marion, and Marlboro counties. The ADSAP curriculum is designed to be completed in 16 hours, with classes held once a week for two hours. Depending on individual needs, participants may also engage in group or individual counseling, with sessions available up to nine hours a week. For those requiring inpatient care or detoxification, referrals to specialized facilities are provided.
Enrollment in the ADSAP program must occur within 30 days of conviction, and the duration of the program varies per individual. Most participants complete it by the end of their suspension period, although some may take up to 12 months. Trinity offers classes on various days: Dillon has sessions on Monday nights and Thursday mornings, Marion provides classes on Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings, and Marlboro holds sessions on Friday mornings.
The cost of ADSAP includes a $500 fee for educational services. Treatment services, if necessary, can cost up to $2,000, with the total cost not exceeding $2,500. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants receive the required education and treatment tailored to their specific needs.
