The Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) is mandated by South Carolina state law for individuals whose driver’s licenses have been suspended due to driving under the influence (DUI) convictions, administrative license revocations (ALR), or zero tolerance suspensions. To regain driving privileges, offenders must complete the ADSAP program before applying for reinstatement with the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS). Sumter Behavioral Health is an authorized provider of ADSAP services, focusing on reducing the incidence of crashes involving death, injury, property damage, and repeat DUI offenses.
Enrollment in the ADSAP program requires several items: a 10-year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles, a valid picture ID (such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport), a Social Security card, and a list of medications. The program entails a minimum fee of $500, though the total cost may vary based on the results of a biopsychosocial assessment. Payment options include cash, money order, Visa, debit, or cashier’s check. Personal checks and American Express are not accepted. The ADSAP program aims to support offenders in addressing their substance use issues and improving road safety.
