The Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (JACOA), funded by the TN Department of Mental Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, and local governments, offers monthly DUI Education Classes. The program utilizes the Prime for Life curriculum, providing participants with a workbook to guide their learning. Classes are held once a month on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The cost of the Saturday class is $150, with additional fees for rescheduling ($25) or replacing certificates ($25). Payment can be made by cash, credit/debit card, or money order. Participants must register in person at JACOA by noon on the Thursday before the class to complete necessary paperwork and pay the registration fee. Space is limited to the first 25 individuals who complete the registration process, and a minimum of 5 students is required for the class to proceed. The registration process takes approximately 30-45 minutes and requires a photo ID.
Individuals have 90 days from the date of enrollment to complete the class. After this period, re-registration and payment of the class fee will be required. Refunds for services are considered on a case-by-case basis. JACOA’s DUI School is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, ensuring a high standard of education and compliance with state regulations.
