The Hill Country Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Inc. is dedicated to preventing substance abuse and fostering a deeper understanding of addiction. We provide education, information, screenings, treatment, and referral services to the residents of Bandera, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, and Medina Counties.
Our DWI Education program for first-time offenders is a state-certified 12-hour course designed to increase participants' knowledge about the impact of alcohol and drugs on driving skills. The program aims to help individuals identify their drinking and drug use patterns and develop strategies to prevent future DWI incidents.
For those with multiple DWI offenses or more severe alcohol and drug-related issues, we offer the DWI Intervention program. This state-certified course is tailored to address the needs that the first offender program does not cover. The intervention program focuses on preventing future DWIs and addressing broader non-DWI alcohol-related problems by increasing participants' awareness of how substances affect their driving abilities and helping them create effective plans to avoid future offenses.
Additionally, we offer an Alcohol Awareness Course for individuals cited with a Minor in Possession (MIP) of alcohol. This course is court-ordered and designed to educate minors about the consequences of alcohol consumption and possession.
Our San Antonio office, SACADA, is a certified provider of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) programs. These courses are valid for anyone in Texas who has received an MIP or other related alcohol citation. Through these comprehensive programs, we strive to support individuals in making informed decisions and reducing substance abuse-related issues in our communities.
