At Benavides Driving School, we offer comprehensive state-certified programs to address the needs of DWI offenders. Our 12-Hour DWI First Offense course provides essential education and rehabilitation components aimed at reducing future DWI incidents. This program, developed with funding from the Texas Department of Transportation, educates participants about the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving, the legal implications of DWI, and effective coping mechanisms for alcohol or drug-related driving situations. By increasing the knowledge base of DWI offenders, the program aims to influence future decision-making regarding drinking and driving behavior. However, it is important to note that this educational initiative does not guarantee immunity from future substance use issues, but it plays a crucial role in the broader traffic safety effort by promoting informed choices and behavioral changes among participants.

For those with multiple offenses, our 30-Hour Repeat Offender Program (ROP) offers an intensive, state-certified curriculum designed to address deeper issues related to alcohol and drug abuse. Held over 15 sessions, the ROP covers a wide range of topics, including lifestyle issues, values, self-esteem, positive thinking, goal setting, communication skills, and responsibility. The program also delves into the physiological and psychological effects of substances, 12-step self-help groups, thinking errors, problem-solving, and action planning. The primary objective is to prevent future DWI situations by helping participants understand and change their behaviors, improve their self-esteem, and develop effective strategies for managing personal issues and preventing relapse.

Both programs are integral to our mission of promoting safe driving and responsible decision-making. By participating in these courses, individuals can gain valuable insights and skills that contribute to safer roads and healthier communities.
