The Bowie County Women's Center (BCWC) is a Community Corrections Facility in Texas that provides an inpatient substance abuse treatment program for non-violent felony and misdemeanor offenders, offering a rehabilitative alternative to incarceration. Serving Bowie County and over 20 other jurisdictions across Texas, BCWC's comprehensive program addresses substance use, criminogenic factors, educational needs, and facilitates referrals to local mental health and medical providers. BCWC's mission is to guide offenders toward recovery and a more fulfilling life through a structured four-phase program. The initial phase introduces residents to the facility and treatment process, followed by Phase 1, which focuses on addressing criminal and addictive behaviors. Phase 2 builds on these foundations, encouraging the application of learned skills, while Phase 3 supports residents as they transition back into the community, allowing them to gain employment while maintaining support and accountability. As a correctional facility, BCWC prioritizes public safety and enforces strict behavioral rules, with on-site community supervision provided throughout the treatment process. The duration of each offender's stay at BCWC depends on their commitment to the treatment program, their progress in recovery, and adherence to facility rules. BCWC is committed to helping offenders identify problem areas, make positive changes, and develop effective coping strategies for a better life.
