Building a Stronger, Healthier Community in Goochland and Powhatan
The focus of our organization is on fostering a community environment that prioritizes mental well-being and substance abuse prevention. We collaborate with residents of Goochland and Powhatan counties to achieve this vision, where emotional health and a substance-free lifestyle are considered cultural norms.
Our services are entirely free and encompass a variety of programs. These include:
- Mental Health First Aid: equips individuals to recognize and respond to mental health crises and potential substance abuse in both youth and adults.
- Safe Medication Storage: provides free cable gun locks, locking medication boxes, and medication disposal kits to promote responsible storage.
- Overdose Response Training: educates the community on recognizing overdoses and administering naloxone.
- Recovery Support: connects individuals to resources and fosters compassion and understanding for those in recovery through our partnership with RSAAC.org.
- Understanding Childhood Experiences: workshops explore the impact of childhood experiences on individual and community well-being.
By working together, we can create a healthier and more supportive environment for all residents of Goochland and Powhatan counties.
