Melisa Stone LPC CSAC

Melisa Stone, LPC, is a highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with a robust background in mental health and addiction treatment. She holds a Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Education degree in agency counseling from Lynchburg College. Melisa's career spans over two decades at Centra Health, where she gained extensive experience working in various settings, including child/adolescent and adult psychiatric units, acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, acute care units, and adult daycare. Her dedication to helping individuals and families affected by substance use disorders was further honed through 15 years of service at Pathways Treatment Center. There, she specialized in working with chemically dependent adults and their families. In addition to her clinical practice, Melisa is certified to provide clinical supervision to license-eligible counselors, demonstrating her commitment to fostering the next generation of mental health professionals. She has also contributed to the field through presentations and articles on addiction and its impact, published in regional outlets. Outside of her professional life, Melisa enjoys spending quality time with her family, hiking, reading, scrapbooking, traveling, and actively participating in her church community.
